Sponsorships and underwriting are labels for basically the same thing: funding donated for the support of a project, program, event, initiative or activity. We have many events and activities throughout the year, and many opportunities for you to participate as a sponsor or underwriter.

Sponsorship Vs. Underwriting
A sponsor may be affiliated with the event or project and lend, give various support, publicity, cachet, volunteers, or cash. A sponsor could encourage all its employees to ride in or volunteer at El Tour. see more Here.

But an underwriter typically offers to pay (or provide in-kind) some or all of the prep, set up, event, site, etc. costs for event or project. That way the event or project can realize greater or even total net gain from event income.
