Pima County El Tour Loop The Loop Wrap-Up

2016LoopTLoopNew275x231pxThe first ever Pima County El Tour Loop the Loop was a huge success Sept. 17 and a great kickoff for El Tour season. The morning-long activity promoted use of The Loop, the region’s 100-plus mile shared use path, as well as the 34th El Tour de Tucson taking place. Nov. 19. Estimates are that more than 1,000 cyclists enjoyed a beautiful morning exploring The Loop

The event was held from 6:30 to 11 a.m. along the shared use paths of the Rillito, Santa Cruz, Pantano and CDO River Parks, and the Julian Wash Greenway.

Numerous nonprofit agencies and various event partners were stationed at stops along The Loop. Cyclists and others picked up tickets from the 12 stops, then were entered to win prizes at the after-party at Trident II.

Patty Koty of Tucson won the Merckx San Remo Ultegra bicycle (valued at $3,999) provided by  Tucson Endurance Performance Center.
