El Tour needs your help –
Come join the fun and be a Volunteer!

Putting on a large scale charity event like El Tour requires lots of volunteer help and   volunteering for El Tour can be almost as exciting and fulfilling as riding the event. Volunteers are needed pre-event to prepare for ride day, at the Expo, and the big event-Ride Day.

Volunteer opportunities exist for everyone. Volunteer groups are a great way for everyone to get together and have fun for a good cause. Individual volunteers can meet new friends and have a great time. Community Service volunteers are always welcome.

Volunteering in the Chute

We truly appreciate all the volunteers who very generously donate their time to help our community!

Perimeter Bicycling Association of America welcomes everyone to be part of our efforts to promote health, community and fun through a love of bicycling and community service. We have many different types of opportunities throughout the year, especially within 6-8 weeks of an event, and can accommodate individuals or groups whether the volunteerism is for community service hours fulfillment, a team building exercise or just a fun day with some friends.

There are volunteer opportunities to suit every volunteer. Whether you can help preparing for the event, working the Expo or on Ride Day, you will have a great time and meet some really wonderful people. For specific information about volunteering along the route, please see Aid Station/On-The-Route Descriptions below. Each volunteer who contributes four or more community service hours during any event will receive an official event t-shirt as a token of our appreciation! (Sizes may be subject to availability so sign up early).

Leila & Totten Warfield 2018 Dedication Recipients and El Tour Volunteers for 33 years!

The Group Volunteer Form can be submitted for those who would like to recruit friends, coworkers or business associates to volunteer with them. We will email a Volunteer Callout to everyone on our list approximately 4-6 weeks prior to an event date and fill positions on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Perimeter Bicycling frequently needs volunteers for tasks in the office which can include mailings, medallion preparation, t-shirt folding, loading and unloading of trucks and general event preparation.

Aid Station/On-The-Route Opportunities

Aid stations are an integral part of the El Tour experience! These stations are located approximately every 8 miles along the route and serve water and food to event participants. All stations are located well off the roadway and volunteers are required to keep a safe distance from the street. We encourage volunteer groups or businesses to make these stations their own and really enjoy the interaction with the riders that are always so happy to see them. Some of our aid stations have been taken care of by loyal volunteer groups and businesses who have been manning them for many years – we will always give them the first right of refusal before going to the waiting list. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please send an email to our Route Officials with a contact name, phone number, mailing address and email. Aid Stations are limited to 10 event t-shirts per station. SAG (Support & Guidance) Support Vehicles are located close to, if not at, Aid Stations. SAG Support’s sole purpose is to provide transportation for event participants who are unable or unwilling to finish the event. If you would like to find out more about being part of our SAG Support Team, please send an email to our Route@PerimeterBicycling.com.
