Awards

At El Tour, everyone is a winner and all finishers earn special medallion which is given on ride day.  Your finish time will tell which medallion you earned:

111-Mile Event                      Men             Women
Platinum    under                    5:00 hrs       5:30 hrs
Gold          under                     6:00 hrs       6:15 hrs
Silver         under                     9:00 hrs       9:00 hrs
Bronze       under                    11:00 hrs     11:00 hrs

85-Mile: all finishers receive a Gold medallion
60-Mile: all finishers receive a Gold medallion
42-Mile: all finishers receive a Gold medallion
Bike Patrol: all patrollers receive a special Bike Patrol medallion
Fun Riders receive a special Fun Ride medallion
Indoor El Tourians receive a special Indoor medallion

Every year, El Tour presents special awards to individuals, groups and even families in recognition of unique accomplishments. To be considered for any of the awards listed below, each cyclist must individually register for El Tour as well as for the award below. See the  Special Awards Registration for complete details. All nomination must be submitted to Perimeter Bicycling by 6:00pm the Thursday before the event..

Generation Award
Presented to the Mother/Father or Son/Daughter (parent/child) combination finishing on single bicycles with the best average 111-mile event time. The parent/child combination does not have to be adult/minor.   Download the Awards Registration form here.

Duo Award
This Award is presented to a combination of two individuals who finish the 111-Mile event on single bicycles with the best average time. No Tandems/tandem bars. You don’t need to be related; no restrictions on gender.  Download the Awards Registration form here.

Military Award
This Award is presented to the first place individual active duty male and female  in the U.S. Armed Services who ride 111-Mile event.

Jim Elliott Inspirational Award
An El Tour Conquistador is presented to an individual whom society often considers to be unable to participate in an event such as El Tour. This award acknowledges the courage, discipline and determination of the recipient. Participants of any main event distance (111, 85, 60, 42 mi) will be considered.

Terry Lorts Diabetes Award
An El Tour Conquistador is presented to a cyclist who has diabetes and has completed his/her chosen event. Participants of any main event distance (111, 85, 60, 42 mi) will be considered.

Family Award
There is a three member minimum, but any family may have an unlimited number of riders on their team and each may ride any of El Tour’s main event distances. Points are awarded to each member who finishes (based on the list below) and the Family Award will be presented to the family with the highest number of points:

7 Points 111-Mile Platinum
6 Points 111-Mile Gold
5 Points 111-Mile Silver
4 Points 111-Mile Bronze

3 Points 85-Mile Event
2 Points 60-Mile Event
1 Point 42-Mile Event

EL TOUR TEAM AWARDS
Five cyclists riding the same distance as a TEAM under one
of these categories:
- Business                         – Youth
- High School                   – Community
- Family                            – Women

Volunteer of the Year
El Tour could not exist without the exceptional individuals who volunteer for the event.  We work with a number of extraordinary volunteers throughout El Tour, and each year recognize the one volunteer who has peformed the highest level of support for the event.

Outstanding Bike Patrol
Bike Patrol rides the event with you and provides minor mechanical repair,  first aid and moral support when you need it. If you are helped by Bike Patrol during the event, write to bikepatrol@perimeterbicycling to tell us about it.
