(1) Registration.

Registration can be done online or on paper.  Online registration accepts credit/debit card (Visa/MasterCard).  Paper registration requires check or money order.

Registration closes  Friday, October 6, 2017 at 8:30pm
at Expo/Packet Pick Up

(2) Completing your registration

If you registered online or by paper you must attend Expo to get your rider packet and pay any remaining fees/contributions.

CHANGING YOUR DISTANCE
Your training is going excellently and you’d like to take a bigger challenge… or the opposite.  Send and email to registration@perimeterbicycling.com to change your distance.  Please do not simply show up at the alternate start – it’ll skew the results.

(3)  Registration confirmation

Online registrants receive an email immediately; those who register by paper application are sent a welcome letter from Cochise Classic headquarters within two weeks of receipt.  Send inquiries to registration@perimeterbicycling.com

A list of currently registered cyclists is posted here.  Please find your name to make sure all the information is correct.

(4) Information & Rules

The Cochise Classic Event Manual (Rules & Information booklet) will be issued at Expo/Packet Pickup. The book will contain the final revisions of the rules, directions to the start line, cycling tips and more.  Please read this booklet carefully. You are responsible to know all event rules.

NO AEROBARS ALLOWED FOR THE 27, 47 & 95-MILE EVENTS.

(5) Packet Pickup/Expo

This is where you pick up your rider packet including rider number, and goodie bag, pay remaining fees and turn in all additional contributions.  It’s on the Friday before the event.  More info here…
FYI:  DOGS are NOT ALLOWED on the Cochise County Fairgrounds or in their buildings.  Please respect this Fairgrounds rule.

(6) Hotel Information

Cochise Classic has arranged special pricing at select Douglas hotels.
If you have an RV or like to camp out, Cochise County Fairgrounds has RV hookups and camping spaces!  Learn more here…

(7) Dedication

Each year, a special person who has made notable contributions to cycling is honored at Cochise Classic.  All cyclists have an opportunity to meet the recipient at the pre-ride dinner held at Expo/Packet Pick Up.  Find out who this year’s Dedication Recipient is here..  

(8) Medallions

Medallions will be given to all finishers at the Finish Line in Douglas.  Be sure to pick up yours after you finish before you head home.

Platinum designation is possible in the 165 and 95-mile events.  Please review the platinum criteria for full information. Finishers in all events who do not meet platinum criteria  as well as 47-mile and 27-mile finishers will receive Gold medallions.

(9) Platinum Designation

Platinum designation is earned allows the fast, experienced cyclists to line up in front of the field at the start line.  Pre-qualification is needed.  Learn more about platinum designation here including how to qualify.

(10) Starting Times, Location and Parking

All events start and finish at Cochise County Fairgrounds on Leslie Canyon Rd in Douglas, AZ.  Details here…

(11) Ride Day: Event Cut-Off Times

165-mile event:  cut off is 16.5 hours after the start which is at 11:00pm

95-mile event:  cut off is 10 hours after the start at 5:00pm

47-mile event:  cut off is 5 hours after the start at 1:30pm

27-mile event:  cut off is 3 hours after the start  at 11:30am

(12) Route Information & Map

All event distances start and finish at Cochise County Fairgrounds on Leslie Canyon Rd in Douglas, AZ.  Full information here… 

Aid Stations will be set up on the 95, 47 & 27-mile routes with fruit and water available.  Other types of nutrition and/or electrolyte replacements are NOT provided. If you have a special diet and/or nutritional needs, please come prepared. Portable toilets at some of the aid stations will be available these three events only.

There are NO AID STATIONS for the 165-mile event as this distance requires full crew support for each cyclist.

Things to take with you include one or two spare tubes, tire levers, tire patch kit and other basic bicycle gear. Carry at least one water bottle, a cell phone, change ($$) and properly wear a CPSC approved bicycle helmet (required).

(13) Mandatory Pre-Ride Information & Check-In Party
(Safety & Security Meeting)

All registered cyclists for the 165-mile events MUST attend the mandatory Pre-Ride Information & Check-In Party held at Cochise Classic EXPO the evening before the event.  All cyclists are invited to attend.

Cyclists for the 95, 47 & 27-mile events are encouraged to attend. The first part of the presentation will be geared for cyclists in all events.

Cyclists and support crews in attendance will receive a pasta dinner provided by Perimeter Bicycling and prepared by Douglas ARC (our beneficiary). Dinner is served between 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Please arrive in time to assure your meal service.

(14) Awards Ceremony

Select awards will be presented at the finish line on Ride Day:

1st – 3rd Place M / F, 95, 47 & 27-mile events ………………………..11:30am
1st – 3rd Place M / F, 165-mile events………………………12:30pm
City of Douglas Award – last official 165-mile Finisher………TBA

All remaining awards will be mailed to participants.  Recipient names and event results will appear on our website and in the Nov/Dec Tail Winds newspaper, mailed to all cyclists.
