Featured Beneficiary: Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona
Monday, August 12th, 2013
A warm welcome to the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona ~ a new beneficiary of the Perimeter Bicycling.com 31st El Tour de Tucson presented by Casino Del Sol Resort.
What happens when Tucsonans support women and girls? They create a world where women and girls can achieve their full potential and pursue their dreams.
Become a partner of the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona (WFSA) by participating in the 31th Annual Tour de Tucson! Together, you’ll empower women to make positive changes in their lives and their community, using five forces for change: leadership development, donor services, community building, research, and grants.
Leadership development is built into all aspects of the Foundation, from the nationally-recognized Unidas philanthropy program for high school girls to shaping public policy through research and advocacy. With “The Self-Sufficiency Standard for 2012,” WFSA educates policy makers about the economic realities facing women and girls. The Women’s Foundation takes a strategic approach to grant-making and has funded more than 170 programs serving thousands in Southern Arizona.
“I rode in the El Tour last year. Not only did I have a great time, but it felt great to fundraise for a great cause. Because WFSA is an amazing way to support so many of southern Arizona’s women and girls, I decided to organize this ride on behalf of the Women’s Foundation. Exercise and WFSA are both ways I express passion in my life. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than combining them. Come ride with me as we support the empowerment of women!” – Rachel Gelbin
The first 10 riders who turn in $1,000 to benefit the WFSA will receive a free ticket on Southwest Airlines. Our Indoor Spin Party on Saturday, November 16, 2013, is sponsored by Susan Frank and O2 Modern Fitness.
