Spotlight Beneficiary: Susan G. Komen – Southern Arizona

“We’re honored to return for a second year as a University of Arizona Medical Center El Tour de Tucson beneficiary,” said Sue Collins, Education & Events for Susan G. Komen – Southern Arizona. “An awesome team of riders raised $33,000 last year. We hope to expand our ‘Riders for the Cure’ team by also offering Indoor El Tour.” Gear-up for the challenge: triathlon coach Pam Kallio will spearhead a 16-week training series, beginning August 4 – You’ll get advice on nutrition, proper equipment, bike maintenance & repair, and training strategies. ‘Riders for the Cure’ are dedicated to supporting the community services that are provided by the Susan G. Komen- Southern Arizona affiliate. Monies raised by the riders will be used to fund grants to nonprofit organizations that provide innovative, non-duplicative breast health and breast cancer services directly to the medically underserved, uninsured and underinsured.
