El Tour de Tucson Riders – Sign-up & $ave: Processing Fee Increases on June 1
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012
Event Date: Saturday, November 17
Where else can you ride with 10,000 of your best friends on nearly traffic-free streets for 111, 85, 60 or 42 miles around the perimeter of a scenic Southwestern city? There are Fun Rides, too, so children and families can pedal 6, 3, or 1/4-miles in the downtown area.
More than any other ride in the United States, El Tour brings together every age and ability imaginable, from first-timers to internationally-ranked professionals – all riding in support of charitable organizations.
Last year Alejandro Leyva, then 93 years young, rode his adult tricycle in the Fun Ride along with several of his children and grandchildren. He turns 94 this month and is already gearing up for this year’s El Tour Fun Ride – last month he completed the four-mile Tour of the Tucson Mountains Fun Ride with two of his children and five of his grandchildren. Alejandro shows us that it is never too late to try something new: he learned how to ride a bike only four years ago – at age 90!
Come ride and celebrate El Tour’s 30th – be part of the phenomenon that is transformative. Are you in?
