Suggest A Theme for the 30th Anniversary!
Event date: Saturday, November 17

Put your spin on this year’s El Tour. Suggest a theme that incorporates both El Tour’s 30th birthday and Arizona’s Centennial. If your submission is selected, you’ll receive one free entry to El Tour, or the Perimeter event of your choice.

Each year Perimeter staff and the El Tour board select a theme to highlight a facet of El Tour. In 1999, the theme was, appropriately, “The Last Century of the Century”. More recent themes have included: “For the Health of It”, in 2006; “Wellness on Wheels”, in 2008; “The Journey is the Reward”, in 2009; “Ride of a Lifetime”, in 2010; and and “All About Giving”, in 2011.

This year we are inviting you to submit suggestions that celebrate important milestones — El Tour’s 30th birthday and Arizona’s Centennial.

At the February El Tour board meeting, members brainstormed preliminary ideas and themes. Some focused on El Tour’s passion, endurance and spirit. Words like celebration, challenge, century, and creativity were put forward and slogans such as: coming full circle, reaching heights, beyond limits, and overcoming challenges came up. Then we decided to open this up to you — El Tour riders, volunteers and friends —who are the very heart and soul of this event.

What does El Tour mean to you? Suggest a theme that incorporates both El Tour’s 30th birthday and Arizona’s Centennial. If your submission is selected, you’ll receive one free entry to El Tour, or the Perimeter event of your choice.

Submit your theme or slogan to:  Email Info by March 10 for contest consideration. Your suggestions will be presented at the El Tour board meeting in March.  Let’s hear from you.
