This year’s event will be dedicated to Fred Boethling, the President/CEO of Race Across America (RAAM), the world's toughest bicycle race. The dedication ceremony will take place on Friday, October 8 at Packet Pick at Cochise College up beginning at 6:30pm. Press Release
After months of deliberation and research, Perimeter Bicycling announces that it will introduce only one new route this year, the 234-mile event. All other events (157, 92, 45 and 4-mile Fun Ride) will remain the same as previous years.
Earlier this year Perimeter Bicycling announced that the longest event distance, 252-miles, would be discontinued and replaced by a new 185-mile event. The proposed 185-mile route would go through Fort Huachuca, a U.S. Army base. McDowell Mountain Regional Park Scottsdale, AZ
Mountain biking is pretty intimidating. There’s undulating surfaces, obstacles and unfriendly flora. This mountain bike experience is just for women. The format will be similar to a typical cross country mountain bike event, Cat 1, Cat 2 and Cat 3 women will compete as they would normally but without the overanxious testosterone driven male either blocking the path or passing too closely. We are working with sponsors and vendors to bring out women specific bikes for you to demo and a skills clinic will be held in conjunction with the event prior to the Cat 3 race.
We encourage you to come out and take advantage of the opportunity to learn about and help grow the sport of mountain biking for women.
